Hello my sugars, this week I wanted to share with you all one of my guilty pleasures, DANCE! As you all know by now, I am a competitive salsa and bachata dancer and have been in the salsa/bachata social scene for about 4 years. This week, I want to just share with you guys Salsa and Bachata congresses that happen year-round here in South Florida. There are many salsa and bachata congresses that happen year-round all over the world, but to start you all off, I'll just begin with Congresses in South Florida.
To begin, I'll explain what exactly a salsa and bachata Congress is. It is a social function where people from around the world come together to enjoy their passion for dance. Within these congresses there are workshops from world-class dancers, pool parties, entertainment shows from dance schools all-around the globe, concerts from various popular artists (i.e. Toby Love, Johnny Sky, Grupo Extra, Grupo Niche, etc.) and finally the night parties (night party, after party, sunrise party) which usually involves themes of some sort. These congress are all day for 3 days, not including, the pre-parties and kick off parties that happen the few days ahead of the congress. So, in reality you're looking at about a week's worth of partying!

These events aren't solely for dancers, or even, salsa and bachata dancers at that! The night parties tend to have a room for salsa lovers, bachata lovers, and kizomba (a dance that originated in Angola) and zouk (A dance that originated in Brazil) lovers. People who have never really danced or taken lessons themselves, have found that these congresses are really fun, mainly because of the energy people bring and the positivity that results from it.
